At this time of year, where frightening experiences are staged for your entertainment there is no shortage of real haunted places that will send shivers down your back
Here is a list of 8 places to visit if you have an appetite for real ghosts
- Gastown: It makes sense you can get your fair share of paranormal activity in one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Vancouver. From the 4 ghost that roams the Old sphagetti factory to the 2 ghosts who can still be heard scratching behind the bricked up cellar wall at the old Hotel Europe. And many ghosts sightings have been reported at waterfront station the roam around the appropriately named Blood Alley
- Don’t feel like getting out of your car, well you may pick up the hitch hiking woman at UBC 16TH Ave, which runs through the pacific rim spirit park. She is likely to jump into the rear seat of cars being driven my young men, especially if its raining. Even if you don’t see a ghost, this drive in the dark is eerie on its own
- Fairmont Hotel Vancouver - the famous lady in Red, who even has a drink named after her, is seen to be roaming the hallways especially on the 14th floor, where the elevator may decide to stop randomly
- The haunted house at Cambie and King Edward -reported to have been a ancient burial site, these are not the friendly ghosts. Anyone who tries to inhabit this home is not welcome. Furniture ends up on the lawns or pushed to edge of the rooms. It is reported there is always a light that is left on and the home is never dark. Drive by and check it out
- Vogue Theatre - for the love of arts, many have sighted a ghostly man in a white tuxedo and bow tie, who is known to interrupt performance and not to mention stop the performers dead in their tracks. Try the Orpheum as well
- The Vancouver Public Library - It was built in 1995, but at 21 years, its qualified to have its own resident ghosts that loves to - yes, you guessed it - read. Interrupt him and he will disappear into the floor. He has been seen or should we say unseen on the 4th floor.

Couldn’t quite finish the list, as writing and researching the first 6 was enough to stop me dead in my tracks.
